Impact
At just 11 years old, Ned launched The Turtle Tribe with a bold mission: to get plastic toothbrushes banned. Why? Because those plastic handles—used for only a few months—pollute our planet for centuries.
Growing up camping on Moreton Island, Ned saw firsthand the devastating impact of plastic waste on marine life. Every year, his family would collect rubbish from remote beaches, including plastic toothbrushes that had washed ashore. Fueled by this experience, he founded The Turtle Tribe in 2018 to offer a simple but powerful alternative: eco-friendly bamboo toothbrushes.
The Turtle Tribe isn’t just about swapping materials—it’s about challenging the norm. Plastic toothbrushes may not be single-use, but they are disposable and unnecessary. Ned believes if something doesn’t have to be made from plastic, it shouldn’t be.
In early 2019, The Turtle Tribe teamed up with Ocean Crusaders, joining 50 volunteers in a massive beach clean-up on Moreton Island. This hands-on partnership reflects Ned’s belief that real change takes action—and community.
By choosing The Turtle Tribe, you're supporting ocean clean-ups, reducing plastic pollution, and backing a passionate young changemaker turning the tide—one brush at a time.
